Ronald Reagan said: "Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn't pass it on to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on; for them to do the same. Or one day we will spend our sunset years telling our children and our children's children what it was once like in the United States where men were free."
People will define your personhood based on your actions. You will, however, define yourself based on what you THINK. These ideas will form your vision of who you are becoming. You may THINK government is there to increase "fairness" for your benefit. Such assistance will require an authority (by force or majority) to reallocate assets at the cost of some and to the benefit of others. Government will gladly participate in this "adjustment" (redistribution) process to justify its existence.
Instead of forfeiting your right to live as you wish – you can retain your right to seek success through freedom and to seek learning through failure.
THINK TWICE before forfeiting your American dream!
We believe, the more attractive a thought pattern is, when you THINK you are gifted by your Creator with certain inalienable rights; including life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness! Such a thought process will launch you on a journey of self-discovery to bless your community with your unique talents. All of us are born with certain handicaps, which may be hidden, or obvious to others. Either way, you know these handicaps are real!
We can assign blame to others for our lack of good fortune and permanently seek assistance from Government, or we can THINK we will succeed in spite of our inherited handicap. It is not human nature to celebrate when a champion wins against all odds? Through our exercise of hard work, we turn our cursed handicap into a blessing and encouragement for others.
When Lee came back to America in 1982, he experienced a vigor that was very different from the two continents he grew up in. His new American friends in College had dreams that they could do anything, regardless of their background. He asked… what gives them the guts to believe they have what it takes to seek such lofty goals? It was this experience that made him fall in love with America. Lee was born in America, but decided to also Be American by choice, and challenges the youth in our District to stand with us as we restore what has been lost.
